The students in 3rd and 4th class have worked their socks off investigating the science behind this simple question, how do glasses help improve our eyesight? The research started with the biology of the eye and then onto the physics of how light travels and finally to the marvellous way that lenses can be used to manipulate the light exactly onto the retina providing us with a focused image. The more we learned on the topic the more we wanted to learn. Perhaps there is a future optometrist among the class. We did not make it to the RDS this year but we really enjoyed presenting our research to the students and staff here in St Margaret’s.
