#FeelGoodFriday WALKWAY Day took place on 25th March. We used this day to launch our new and revised Active School Walkway for the first time. We are using the new walkway route to promote ‘Learning on the Move’ which ties in nicely with the Outdoor and Adventure strand in PE which we are focusing on this year.
For our school’s WALKWAY Day, the children in the Active Squad were responsible for presenting a Walkway Challenge to each of their classes. In groups the children had to complete various orienteering activities while navigating the walkway using a map of the school grounds. The walkway challenges help children to learn about colours, flags, time and shape in a fun and active manner.
As the weather improves we are looking forward to spending time outdoors and taking on more Active School Walkway challenges.
