For the past number of years, pupils in St. Margaret’s NS have been fortunate to participate in the Musician in Residence programme. This initiative is funded by Fingal County Council and allows pupils from 3rd-6th the opportunity to receive tuition from an experienced musician on a weekly basis with a specific instrumental focus. Our Musician in Residence Karen Barry has been teaching the pupils how to play the Ukulele. Every Monday we are super excited to see Karen arrive and to walk through the corridors of our school, listening to pupils play various chart music on the ukuleles is a real treat! The ukulele playing always spreads positivity and starts the week off well! We would like to thank Fingal County Council and our dedicated Parents’ Association for helping us finance and fund the initiative again this year, the pupils continue to benefit immensely from the project.
