During the month of April the Green-Schools Committee set the children of St. Margaret’s N.S. a challenge. They wanted to find out how far our food has travelled before we eat it. Each student had to pick a fruit or vegetable from home and upload a picture of it to Google Classroom. They also had to mention where the food had come from. The children in 3rd – 6th class then worked out the distance in kilometres using the food miles website. The Green Team would like to thank all who participated in this project.
