This month we will begin the Reading Buddies Programme in our school. Pupils from Ms. Keegan’s 1st & 2nd class will participate in paired reading experiences with pupils from Ms. Dunne’s 5th & 6th class for fifteen minutes every day. Children select their own reading material and are guided through various texts. This is a simple and effective reading technique, which usually results in improvements in reading ability for most pupils. It tends to be a very enjoyable experience where most pupils develop more positive attitudes towards reading. We are excited to embark on our new literacy journey here in St. Margarets NS!
