We celebrated Maths Week this year from 17th– 21st October. Ms. Keegan who is our school science coordinator, organised a jam packed week of activities for all classes in our school. We enjoyed watching the daily episodes on Maths Week TV, participating in online target board challenges, maths games, outdoor maths hunt and working with maths stations which helped revise various concepts and topics from Shape & Space and Measures which are strands of the Primary Mathematics curriculum. The children explored the school environment, solving maths challenges and working together as a team with their individual pods. The Scavenger Hunts were a huge success and really allowed the children to exercise problem solving skills and revise number concepts taught in class! As always the posters provided by the Maths Week team provided valuable discussion moments in class as did the Maths Talk resources provided on the PDST website.
