Our slogan for Diversity Week was “diversity is the one true thing we all have in common…let’s celebrate.” On Monday 20th June we launched the diversity flag and throughout the week each class participated in various activities to celebrate diversity.
The children came to school on Tuesday in their favourite clothes for ‘Express your unique self – non uniform day’. On Wednesday they were invited to bring a unique item to school for show & tell. Some children brought in books, symbols, food, stamp collections, photographs and Lego creations. Other children brought in items from different cultures or countries visited. The children also enjoyed learning how to say hello in different languages and at break time they danced to music from around the world. Thank you to our Student Council and to Ms. Noone for organising this event and for keeping their focus student well-being and ensuring the student voice is heard.
