St. Margaret’s N.S. took part in the “Dare to Believe” programme on Friday 15th of November where we participated in a live webinar via zoom with Olympians such as Kellie Harrington, Phillip Doyle and Dáire Lynch. Like many other schools who had tuned in across the country, the children in St. Margaret’s N.S. had the chance to virtually meet their heroes. Check out the slideshow below!

St. Margaret’s National School celebrated a momentous occasion today as Laura Patton McDonald was crowned the winner of the highly competitive Active Slogan Competition. Her inspiring slogan, *”Get Fit to Get Fast ’cause if you Sit you’ll be Last!”*, stood out among numerous entries from students, encapsulating the essence of an active lifestyle with creativity and enthusiasm.

Congratulations to Pippa who won the Mr. Mooney Shield Swimming Competition for 2022. St. Margaret’s N.S. retired principal, Mr. Mooney was delighted to present the coveted shield to her in person. Well done to all the children who participated.

As part of our Active Halloween Feel Good Fridays initiative the children had lots of fun participating in a Halloween scavenger hunt, skeleton relays, exercise circuits and playground games.

The children came up with their own slogans and colourful posters to promote the importance ‘being active’. They came up with so many creative ideas and the overall winner was Zoe Madigan in Third Class who came up with the slogan ‘Put Down Your Switch and Get On The Pitch’.
