We are delighted to share an update from our recent FAI Schools Primary 5s soccer tournament,
which took place in Huntstown-Hartstown FC on Monday, 23rd February. This year, we were proud to bring along three teams to participate in the Fun Schools 5-a-Side programme – two boys’ teams and one girls’ team. The emphasis of the programme is firmly placed on fun, inclusivity, participation, and fostering a genuine passion for football. It was wonderful to see these values reflected so clearly throughout the day.

All of our players represented the school with fantastic enthusiasm and positivity. Their teamwork, sportsmanship, and effort were evident in every match they played. They supported one another, showed great respect to their opponents, and most importantly, embraced the spirit of the day.

We were especially thrilled to celebrate a fantastic achievement. One of our boys’ teams won their regional division and will now progress to the next stage of the competition. This is a tremendous accomplishment and a first for St. Margaret’s NS. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the team on their success.

Our girls’ team also had an outstanding day, progressing all the way to the semi-final. This was a wonderful achievement and a testament to their hard work, determination, and teamwork throughout the tournament.

We are extremely proud of every student who took part. Each player contributed to a memorable and rewarding day for our school community.

A sincere thank you to the teachers Ms. Noone, Ms. Gaughan, Mr, Byrne and Emer who managed
and supported the teams on the day. Their encouragement, organisation, and commitment ensured that the event ran smoothly and that all students had a positive and enjoyable experience.

We wish the boys’ team the very best of luck as they progress to the next level. We look forward
to cheering them on in the next stage of their journey.
