Earlier this year every class in St. Margarets NS planted bulbs in our school greenhouse. The Green Team take pride and responsibility in ensuring our plants receive adequate water throughout the week. After much observation and discussion with our caretaker and avid gardener James, children were thrilled to be able to take their bulbs home. As part of a Science and Maths investigation, children in Ms. Keegan’s 1st & 2nd Class decided to measure their height of the remaining plants in our Greenhouse. Children measured the height of bulbs, strawberry plants and tomato plants using standard and non standard units of measurement. The plants that appeared to be lacking in growth, were repositioned in the Greenhouse to ensure they receive more sunlight! We are so excited to revisit the Greenhouse and evaluate the results in a few weeks!
