Next week (13th-17th June 2022) we will be holding our annual ‘Active Schools Week’. The pupils and staff are looking forward to a jam-packed week of sports and fun activities and we hope that you can join us for some of it.
Like every year, our challenge for the week is to get everybody moving. The children will participate in a variety of sporting events and activities. This year we are delighted to welcome a cricket coach and a taekwondo expert to give the children an insight into their sporting fields.
Please take note of the important information below.
Sponsored School Walk – Tuesday 14th June
Our school walk will take place in Malahide Gardens. If you wish to join us on our walk, we ask that you meet us there. Children will return to school at 1.40pm. All classes can be collected then. A big thank you to the Parents’ Association for paying for one bus and to Dublin Bus who are kindly offering us a community bus for the event.
The children should wear their PE tracksuit on the day of the walk. Please ensure that your child has a packed lunch, water and a light raincoat in their backpack.
Sport’s Day – Thursday 16th June
Our whole school sport’s day will take place in St. Margaret’s GAA complex. Children to be dropped off at the club for 9.00am and collected between 1.00-1.30pm. Parents are welcome to support on the day.
Please note, your child/children will be assigned a team colour on Monday and this will apply to activities throughout the week in school. Children are asked to wear their team colours on sports day only. On Thursday we will announce the team colour that has received the most golden tickets throughout the week. These tickets will be given out for participation, teamwork, good sportsmanship and to the winners of various events.
Please remember to bring a potato and spoon for the relay races, a packed lunch and lots of water. If it is a very sunny day, please ensure that your child has adequate sun protection.
Jersey Day – Friday 17th June: Children can wear their favourite jersey or sports top to school.
Active Wear: Children should wear their school PE tracksuit everyday unless otherwise mentioned above.
Active Homework: This will replace written homework for the week. Children are asked to record the activities they have completed on their ‘active homework’ ideas worksheet and attempt the daily challenges set by some familiar faces on Google Classroom.
