Mark Mc Cabe from SKIPnROPE came and introduced his wonderful skipping techniques to each pupil in the school. The children enjoyed the skipping sessions and it is fantastic to see them practising their skipping skills now at lunch break.
The aim of SkipnRope is to introduce children and teachers to the world of skipping. Skipping is a terrific form of exercise that helps a child’s agility, balance, hand-eye co-ordination and can increase speed through footwork. It teaches children about rhythm and when put into team routines, it provides them with team work skills and encourages them to have confidence in their sporting ability. It is a great way to exercise, maintain good health while having lots of fun.
The school has purchased a variety of new skipping ropes that the children are encouraged to use on the yard at lunch break. We hope the boys and girls in St, Margaret’s will continue to skip all year long!
